Decree No. 84/2020 approving the Regulation for Infrastructure and Petroleum Operations Licensing.

This Decree approves the Regulation for Infrastructure and Petroleum Operations Licensing. The Regulation, consisting of 49 articles divided into nine Chapters and two Annexes, establishes the rules and procedures for the licensing of the construction, installation, operation and demobilizing of petroleum infrastructures, including storage transport, and authorization upon registration. This Regulation applies to infrastructures to be installed by the Concessionaires, Operators, their contractors and other legal persons, involved in Petroleum Operations in National Territory. The licensing and supervision of activities and facilities related to the reception and transportation of crude oil or other raw materials for the production of petroleum products are excluded from the scope of this regulation. Licences under the scope of this regulation are granted to legal persons involved in Petroleum Operations that guarantee the necessary precautions for environmental protection, with a view to their preservation. The Regulation is divided as follows: General provisions (Chap. I); Installation licensing (Chap. II); Operating licensing (Chap. III); Demobilizing licensing (Chap. IV); Specific petroleum operations (Chap. V); Registration (Chap. VI); Offences (Chap. VII); Taxes and fines (Chap. VIII); and Inspection (Chap. IX).
