Abstract
This Ministerial Decision approves the Regulation of the Mozambican Institute of Cotton (IAM), governed by Decree No. 36/2015 of 31 December, which redefines the powers and responsibilities of the IAM, by its Statute, approved by Resolution No. 11/2017 of 1 September. This Regulation, consisting of 48 articles divided into six Chapters, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of IAM, entitled to perform the following activities: a) coordination of activities for the promotion, trade and processing of cotton, sisal and other crops for textile purposes; b) Implementation of the development model approved by the competent authorities, in the diverse cultures; c) Proposed framework of policies, legislation and other regulations for cotton, sisal and other crops for textile purposes; d) Promotion of the creation of environment for the development of Value Chains under its control; e) Promotion of training, production technologies and increase of value of cotton, sisal and other crops for textile purposes; f) Creation of types or standards for the classification of cotton seed and fiber, as well as other crops for textile purposes, in accordance with national and international standards; etc.
