Ministerial Order No. 30/2025 guaranteeing the maintenance of the measure that changes the areas of exercise for trawling and deep-sea lobster fishing with cages, established within the framework of fisheries management for sustainable fishing and maximization of economic gains and repeals paragraph b) of No. 1 of article 54, No. 1 and 2 of article 72 and No. 3 of article 74, all of REPMAR.

This Ministerial Order guarantees the maintenance of the measure that changes the areas of exercise for trawling and deep-sea lobster fishing with cages, established within the framework of fisheries management for sustainable fishing and maximization of economic gains and repeals paragraph b) of No. 1 of article 54, No. 1 and 2 of article 72 and No. 3 of article 74, all of REPMAR. The fishing areas for deep sea crustaceans are as follows: a) Deep sea crustacean trawling: i. on the Sofala Bank: between parallels 16º S and 21º S, beyond 12 nautical miles and at depths of 250 meters or more; ii. outside the Sofala Bank: beyond 3 nautical miles from the coast and at depths of 250 meters. b) Deep crawfish with cages: i. on the Sofala Bank: between parallels 16º S and 21º S, beyond 12 nautical miles and at depths between 100 and 450 meters; ii. outside the Sofala Bank: beyond 3 nautical miles from the coast and at depths between 100 and 450 meters. For crustacean fishing, the minimum mesh size for traps such as gangos, cages and pots, in any of their parts, is: i. 40.8 mm, when the target resource is lobster; ii. 90 mm, when the target resource is mangrove crab; iii. 160 mm when the target resource is deep-sea crab. These fishing gears should be made of biodegradable material, in order to minimize pollution of the marine environment and ensure the conservation of species.
