Ministerial Order No. 80/2021 approving the Sofala Bank Surface Shrimp Fisheries Management Plan (PGP-CBS) – 2021-2025.

This Ministerial Order approves the Sofala Bank Surface Shrimp Fisheries Management Plan (PGP-CBS) – 2021-2025 period is structured around the pillars of ecological and socio-economic well-being and ability to achieve and external factors as well as the respective management objectives. This Management Plan (PGP-CBS) takes into account the survey, the evaluation and the conclusions mirrored in the evaluation report. The pillar of ecological well-being considers issues related to the ecological dimension of fisheries, highlighting the problems and impacts arising from fishing and other activities; the socio-economic well-being pillar considers issues related to the social and economic component of fishing; the capacity-to-achieve pillar considers issues related to the governance component.
The process of drawing up the management plan for the fishery was the result of a participatory process that took into account the principles of predictability, the involvement of interested parties, the contextual consideration of precaution and rationality and complied with to the following stages: 1. Development of terms of reference; 2. Carrying out consultation workshops for those involved in the fishery; 3. Evaluation of the PGP 2014-2018 with the survey of problems and their prioritization; 4. Presentation of the assessment of the implementation of the PGP 2014-2018 and the guidelines for the PGP 2021-2025; 5. Production of the PGP 2021-2025 preliminary draft and its discussion with related stakeholders; 6. Adjustment and presentation of the PGP 2021-2025 project and the respective Action Plan.
