Abstract
This Ministerial Order establishes minimum depths and distances from shore or geographic areas for shrimp and lobster fishing for reasons of conservation of fisheries resources and fisheries management under the Marine Fisheries’ Regulation, approved by Decree No. 43/2003. Article 1 specifies that shrimp trawling can only be exercised beyond 12 nautical miles from shore, below 250 meters of depth. Fishing lobster with traps can be exercised only at depths of 100-250 meters South of latitude 21 degrees. Article 3 deals with monitoring and evaluation and administrative logbooks under the responsibility of the National Fisheries Administration and the National Institute for Fisheries Research.
