Abstract
This Resolution approves the Statute of the Public Institute of Cereals of Mozambique (ICM, IP). This Statute, consisting of 35 articles divided into six Chapters, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of ICM entitled to develop the value chain of agricultural marketing, by intervening as a buyer of last resource, management of storage, conservation and agro-processing infrastructures, as well as the promotion and coordination of the constitution of strategic reserves. In particular, ICM, IP is responsible for: a) promoting the structuring, and modernization of the value chain of agricultural commercialization of cereals, legumes and oilseeds with an impact on the development of the agro-industry and on the balancing of import and export with national production and consumption; b) management of infrastructure to support the agricultural marketing value chain; c) promotion and management of alternative financing solutions for the agricultural marketing and rural trade value chain; and d) promotion, coordination and establishment of strategic reserves of cereals, legumes and oilseeds for food security for food security.
