Abstract
This Resolution approves the Statute of the Institute of Cotton and Oilseeds of Mozambique (IP). The Statute, consisting of 34 articles divided into five Chapters, establishes composition, duties and competencies of the above mentioned Institution, entitled to perform, among others, the following activities: coordination of cotton, oilseed and oil processing, trade and processing activities, as well as its products, by-products and other crops for textile purposes. In particular, its responsibilities are: coordinate activities of promotion, trade and processing of cotton and oilseeds, and its products, by-products and other crops for textile purposes; create mechanisms aimed at increasing the production, processing and marketing of cotton and oilseeds, their products and by-products; encourage the production and certification of related seeds in accordance with national and international standards and ensure correct compliance; assist producers for the value chain production; etc.
