Abstract
These Regulations are made in accordance with the Tobacco Products Control Act, No 10 of 2010. The Regulations provide that packages for tobacco products shall resemble the design set out in the annexture to the Regulations and makes specifications as to the language, font, colour and casing of the warnings and statement to appear in the packaging. Retailers are also mandated to ensure that there is adequate warning that tobacco products shall not be sold to persons under the age of 18 years of age. The Regulations also provide for prescriptions as to how warnings prohibiting the use of tobacco in certain places are drawn up.The Regulations further provide for the prescribed amounts of tar and nicotine to be contained in cigarettes, among others.
