Abstract
This Act makes provision for the regulation of and control on the use medicines intended for humans and animals in Namibia. It provides for the continuation of the Medicines Control Council as the Namibia Medicines Regulatory Council and provides for the registration of medicines.
The Council shall establish a Veterinary Medicines Committee which shall perform functions regarding veterinary medicines assigned to it under this Act. The Minister shall appoint the Registrar of Medicines who shall keep a register of veterinary medicines. The Act prohibits the manufacture, importation or sale without a licence of medicines or substances listed in the Schedules to this Act.
