Abstract
These Regulations concern control on the importation and sale of potatoes. All potatoes imported for any purpose shall be subject to inspection by the Department. Every importer of seed potatoes shall notify the Director of his intention to import seed potatoes pursuant to regulation 2 and shall satisfy the Director that the seed potatoes imported meet standards of quality laid down in regulation 3. Every importer of seed potatoes shall sign a declaration that the seed potatoes imported by him were imported for seed purposes only (reg. 6). The importation of potatoes from the countries mentioned in regulation 7 shall be prohibited. No potatoes shall be permitted to be imported into Bermuda from any area which is under plant quarantine unless conditions laid down in regulation 8 are fulfilled. Regulation 10 defines the seed potatoes that shall be considered to be unfit for planting. Discarded potatoes of any of these classes shall not be sold except under such conditions as the Minister may determine. No seed potatoes shall be sold for consumption and no potatoes destined for consumption shall be sold as seed potatoes (regs. 14 and 15). (18 regulations)
