Animal Health Ordinance, 1996.

This Decree concerns the prevention, containment and suppression of animal diseases in Guernsey. The Decree prescribes measures such as notification of diseases, testing of animals, compulsory slaughtering of infected animals, declaration of infected premises, declaration of infected areas, restrictions on the movement of animals, precautions with regard to sale, transfer and movement of animals and with sale of milk, notification of premature calving or abortion, treatment and disinfection of animals, monitoring of the health of bovine herds, bovine health certification, etc. The Decree also provides for animal identification.
