Abstract
These Rules are setting the animal welfare necessary procedures and conditions as regards the operations related to live animal transport, including technical issues, animal loading, unloading and feeding/watering provisions all aimed at granting the correct animal treatment.
The text is divided into 9 sections. Main topics covered are: general terms and interpretations; protection of animals from injury and unnecessary suffering during loading, unloading and carriage; feeding, watering and general care of animals during carriage; unfit animals and animals likely to give birth during carriage; carriage of animals in receptacles; accommodation of animals during carriage; animals injured during carriage; and offences and penalties.
