Abstract
These Regulations are setting the use and all related issues as regards antioxidants in food and foodstuff intended for human consumption.
The text is divided into 10 sections. Main topics covered are: general definitions and interpretations; exemptions; sale etc of food containing antioxidants; sale, advertisement and labelling of antioxidants; food for babies and young children; condemnation of food; penalties; and defences.
These Rules are involving the provisions of the Council Directive 78/664/EEC of 25 July 1978 laying down specific criteria of purity for antioxidants which may be used in foodstuffs intended for human consumption.
Schedules 1-4 are also part of this publication (technical standards and permitted quantities).
