Abstract
These Regulations are setting the food safety standards as regards the maximum tolerated presence of arsenic in food and foodstuff as regards the territory of Gibraltar, as enabled by the national Food Act.
Contents of this text are as follows: Title and commencement; Interpretation; Prohibition and exemption; Condemnation of food; Penalties; Application of various sections of the Act.
Basic provisions are related to the food safety in terms of food that cannot contain arsenic in proportions exceeding one part per million (in proportion to the effective weight of that particular food or foodstuff).
Schedule is also part of this publication (list of foodstuff with related proportions of arsenic expressed in terms of parts per million estimated by weigh).
