Abstract
This Act amends the Care and Protection of Animals Act 1975 in section 8 by adding a subsection that grants powers to an officer of the Department or of a recognized society to seize an animal in case of suspicion of cruel treatment of animals. This Act also adds two new sections (8A and 8B) to the principal Act. These sections give certain powers of inspection to an officer of the Department or of a recognized society for any purpose connected with the discharge of his duties under section 8.
