Abstract
This Order, made under articles 28 and 42 of the Diseases of Animals (Jersey) Law 1956, provides for the control on the importation of bees. It, among other things, defines notifiable diseases and pests, requires bee hives and hive owners to be registered, defines powers of inspectors, defines measures where notifiable disease are confirmed in a hive (including declaration of an area infected by notifiable disease or pest), provides with respect of importation of bees. The importation of bees into Jersey except with, and in accordance with, a licence issued by the Minister, is prohibited.
