Abstract
These Regulations, also for the purpose of transposing into the law of Gibraltar Council Directive 2009/28/EC of the European Parliament and the Council of 23 April 2009 on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources and amending and subsequently repealing Directives 2001/77/EC and 2003/30/EC, are here setting several renewable energy sources provisions.
This text is divided into 22 Regulations, as follows: Title and commencement; Interpretation; Target for gross final consumption of energy; Renewable energy action plan; Calculation of the share of energy from renewable sources; Statistical transfers; Joint projects; Effects of joint projects; Joint projects and third countries; Effects of joint projects and third countries; Joint support schemes; Capacity increases; Administrative procedures, regulations and codes; Information and training; Guarantees of origin; Electronic register; Recognition of guarantees of origin; Procedure upon refusal of recognition; Guarantees of origin: miscellaneous; Electricity supply; District heating and cooling; Reporting to the Commission; (Regulations 23 and 24 are deleted by previous amendments).
Schedules 1-6 are also part of this publication (Overall targets for the share of energy from renewable sources in gross final consumption of energy in 2020; method for the calculation of energy from renewable sources; certification of installers; rules for calculating the greenhouse gas impact of biofuels, bioliquids and their fossil fuel comparators; amounts of biofuels and bioliquids in energy units corresponding to each category of feedstock group; feedstocks and fuels).
Entry into force notes
These Regulations shall come into operation on the day of publication.
