Abstract
This Order introduces measures for the prevention of spreading of foot-and-mouth disease in Jersey and applies provisions of article 8 of the Diseases of Animals (Jersey) Law 1956 to foot-and-mouth disease. Article 8 empowers the Minister to order slaughtering of diseased animals. Other measures include, declaration of an infected place or area, veterinary enquiry by the Minister, cleansing and disinfection, isolation of animals and restrictions on the movement of animals.
