Foreign Fisheries Regulations 1982.

These Regulations provide rules relative to fishing by foreign fishing boats in fisheries waters of Pitcairn, Henderson Island, Ducie Island and Oeno Island. The text consists of 39 regulations divided into 7 Parts: Interpretation (I); Fisheries Representative (II); Licensing of Foreign Fishing Boats (III); Control of Licensed Fishing Boats in Fisheries Zone and territorial seas (Part IV); Enforcement (V); Miscellaneous (VII).
Parties wishing to apply for a fishing licence shall first appoint a local representative to be approved by the Governor (reg. 3). Applications shall be in the form set out in the Schedule. The Governor may require a fishing plan to be submitted by the applicant (reg. 7). The contents of the plan are specified in regulation 8. Regulations of Part II make, inter alia, provision for notification of entrance into the fishery zone (reg. 18), compulsory port inspection (reg. 19), flags (reg. 22), markings (reg. 23), logs (reg. 25), reporting (reg. 28) and transhipment of catch (reg. 31).
