Abstract
These Rules provide for the establishment of the Jammu and Kashmir Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management Planning Authority to promote: the conservation, protection, regeneration and management of existing natural forests; the conservation, protection and management of wildlife; conservatory forestation; and environment services.
The Rules define the composition of the Authority and its functions which include: receive money collected from user agencies towards compensatory afforestation, additional compensatory afforestation and penal compensatory afforestation; carry out activities related to the protection and management of forests and wildlife; and strengthen the institutions engaged in this work in the State Forest Department.
The Rules further provide for: funds of the Authority; disbursement of the funds; composition and functions of the steering committee and executive committee of the Authority; etc.
