Abstract
This Act provides for protection of Mulberry trees, use of leaves of mulberry trees in silkworm rearing and related matters. Chapter II of the Act contains provisions relating to protection of mulberry tree and prohibits possession of mulberry wood without permission. The owner or occupier of private land is required to report damage to any mulberry tree immediately. Silkworm rearers are allowed free use of mulberry leaves in excess of the requirement by the owner. Chapter III lays down the penalties for offences committed, and makes provisions for trial and investigation. Chapter IV requires each Patwari to maintain a record of mulberry trees in their jurisdiction.
