Abstract
This Act provides for the establishment of a Sheep and Sheep Products Development Board for procurement of wool and pashmina, its grading and marketing. Chapter I contains the short title, extent, commencement and definitions. Chapter II establishes the Jammu and Kashmir Sheep and Sheep Products Development Board (Board) and provides for its composition, term of office of members, appointment of employees of the Board and related matters. Chapter III lays down the functions and powers of the Board which mainly includes procurement of wool and pashmina. It also makes provisions for the funds of the Board, its budget, accounts and audit. Chapter IV requires the Board to prepare annual reports to be submitted to the government and Chapter V contains other miscellaneous provisions.
