Abstract
This Act provides for development and protection of silk industry in Jammu & Kashmir. Section 3 of the Act prohibits any person to engage directly or indirectly in production of Hybrid Silkworm Seed or any of its parental breeds unless permission has been granted by competent authority. Section 4 regulates the purchase, sell or transfer of silk cocoons. Section 5 provides for penalties for contravention of the Act. The Act also provides for summary trial of offences and procedure of filing complaint before the court.
