Abstract
The Act applies to regulations on whale hunting and its restriction based on the size of these marine mammals. Female whales, Balaenidae, Blue whales may not be hunted and Minke whales are not to be hunted with cannon-spears larger than 50mm in caliber.
A maximum hunting quota of 8 per calendar year applies to Fin- and Humpback-whales, which quota is distributed in three (3) maritime areas as per articles 7 and 8. Registration of catch thereof must be submitted to the Greenland Directorate of Commerce. Sei whales and Sperm whales measuring more than 10.7 mt. in size may not be hunted.
