The Order applies to fishing and hunting of mammals and birds in Greenland and sets regulations on the issuance of license thereof. Applicants must have taxation status in Greenland for at least 2 years and are required to notify their yearly catch by registering it between 1 October and 30 September. The first registration period runs however from 1 January to 30 September 1993.
The government may grant exemptions from these provisions should there be an interest in scientific studies. Hunting license may also be granted to institutions, should there be a need for commercial hunting for economic or educational purposes.
