Abstract
This Order sets rules on the protection and hunting of beluga whales (Delphinapterus leucas) and narwhals (Monodon monoceros) in Greenland's fishing territory and which are a preserved species. The Greenlandic governement shall establish one or multi-annual quotas for this species and the setting of quotas is based on (1) existing international agreements for the conservation of resources and reproduction, (2) biological consideration, and (3) on the consultation with the Hunting Council memebers and municipalities. Defined permitted areas of hunting are indicated under Appendix 2 and authorized hunting methods include only rifles with minimum legal caliber is 0.30 to 06 (7,62x63 mm). The use of semi-automatic rifles are permitted only for individuals with a commercial hunting license.
