Order No. 32 on fishing by-catch.

The Order applies to commercial fishing in the Greenland fishing territory of the following species: Cod (Gadus morhua); Shrimp (Pandalus borealis); Halibut (Reinhardtius hippoglosoides); Halibut (Hippoglossus hippoglossus); Striped Catfish (Anarchichas lupus); Spotted catfish (Anarchichas minor); Common grenadier (Coryphaenoides rupestris); Northern grenadier (Macrourus berglax); Solder (Mallotus villosus); Crabs (Chionoecetes opilio); Blue whiting (Gadus poutassou); Arctic Cod (Boreogadus saida).
They are considered by-catch if not mentioned in the fishing permits or if they do not meet size requirement criteria (min. size for cod is 40 cm, 56 cm for Greenland halibut and 60 cm. for halibut). Halibut fished by other fishing methods than trawl, male crabs smaller than the allowed minimum fishing allowed size and min. size species by beam trawl-fishing must be discarded and thrown off-board; fishing activity may not resume at less than 5 miles distance from the start and end notified fishing position. The Fishing Directorate may decide when to suspend fishing activities should an area be populated by large by-catch quantity
The Order shall also apply to commercial fishing in the Greenland fishing territory of redfish (Sebastes marinus and Sebastes mentella) whether caught with beam- or pelagic-trawl.
