Regulation No. 2 on salmon fishing.

This Regulation of the Government of Greenland sets out rules for salmon fishing, distinguishing between commercial and non-commercial activities. It requires both groups to obtain licenses, subject to conditions such as community ties, vessel and gear ownership, and fulfillment of reporting duties. Fishing is restricted by quotas determined annually in line with international agreements, with specific start dates and gear requirements (hooks or nets with minimum mesh size). All catches, including zero catches, have to be reported to the Greenland Fisheries License Control (GFLK). Commercial sale of salmon is only permitted within Greenland unless specially authorized. Violations of licensing, gear, quota, and reporting rules are punishable by fines under Greenland’s criminal law.
