Regulation No. 46 on coastal fishing for halibut.

This Regulation of the Government of Greenland sets rules for coastal fishing of Greenland halibut in Greenland’s waters. It applies to commercial fishing with vessels under 75 BRT/120 BT within 3 nautical miles of the baseline. It defines management areas, vessel size limits, licensing requirements, quotas based on biological and socio-economic advice, and conditions for both small boats and larger vessels. Licenses are area-specific, time-limited or permanent depending on the zone, and fishing with nets or trawls is generally prohibited except under limited municipal dispensations. Violations, including use of unauthorized gear or lack of licenses, may result in fines and confiscation under Greenland’s criminal law.
