Abstract
This Order introduces measures to prevent the spreading of and to control sheep-pox in Jersey and applies provisions of article 8 of the Diseases of Animals (Jersey) Law 1956 to sheep-pox. Article 8 empowers the Minister to order slaughtering of diseased animals. Measures include a veterinary inquiry ordered by the Minister, the declaration of an infected place by the Minister, restriction on the movement of sheep, detention of flocks in stables, disinfection and other treatment of animals and veterinary inspections.
