Sher-i-Kashmir Universities of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Act, 1982 (Act No. VII of 1982).

This Act provides for the establishment of the Sher-i-Kashmir Universities of Agricultural Sciences and Technology in Jammu and Kashmir. Chapter II incorporates two Universities, one in Jammu division and another in Kashmir division. It also lays down the objectives, functions and powers of the Universities. Chapter II provides for the various authorities of the University including Council and Board of Management, the composition and powers and duties of the authorities. Chapter IV provides for the officers of the University such as Chancellor, Dean, Registrar etc. and lays down their powers and duties. Chapter V contains provisions relating to resident instructions, research and extension education. Chapter VI makes provisions for the funds and accounts of the University and chapter VII provides for statutes and regulations of the University.
