Abstract
These Regulations provide for the registration and marking of a fishing vessel or a ship with a gross tonnage of less than 400 tons ships other than small ships registered in accordance with the Shipping (Local Small Ships Registration) Regulations 2004. The Regulations also provide rules relative to transactions in ships registered under these Regulations.
The Regulations provide that the register shall contain a part in which fishing vessels are to be registered and prescribe who shall be entitled to be registered as an owner of a fishing vessel or a share in such a vessel. The register shall be kept in such form as the Minister may determine. The Registrar may refuse to register a vessel as a fishing vessel on the basis of criteria specified in these Regulations.
