Borno Geographic Information Service (BOGIS) Law, S.L. no. 1 of 2019.

This Law establishes the Borno State Geographic Information Service, a body corporate responsible for land administration and management, including land registration, searches and other relating duties, best practices for land tenure, verification of applications concerning the right of occupancy for land or the grant of other rights over land, development and maintenance of a database of all land, permitting access to existing data on land for the purpose of conducting title searches, ensuring conformity with the national Standard concerning geospatial data. Further matters covered by this Law include: powers of the Service; Governing Board of the State; management and staff of the service; financial provisions and funds of the Service; right of access to information; offences and legal proceedings.
