Drug and Related Product Labelling Regulations 2021. S.I. no. 65 of 2021.

These Regulations make provision for the labelling of drugs. "Drug" includes any substances of vegetable, animal or mineral origin or any preparation or admixture thereof manufactured, sold or advertised for use in: i) the diagnosis, treatment, mitigation, in man or animal; ii) restoring, correcting or modifying organic function in man and animal; iii) disinfections or the control of vermin, insects or pest; contraception. Some rules concern drugs for veterinary use only. The Regulations concern also the “withdrawal period”, i.e. the period between the last dose of a drug and the time when the drug or its metabolite is depleted to acceptable Maximum Residue Limit (MRL) in the edible products (meat, milk or egg) of the animal.
