Fats, Oils and Foods Containing Fats and Oils Regulations, Statutory Instrument no. 26 of 2023.

These Regulations, made under sections 5 and 30 of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control Act, Cap. N1, LFN, 2004 and section 12 of the Food, Drugs and Related Products (Registration, Etc.) Act, Cap. F33. LFN, 2004, apply to edible fats, oils and foods containing fats and oils, manufactured, imported, exported, sold and distributed in Nigeria. The Regulations concern: source of fats; fats fortification with Vitamin A; additives permitted in edible fats and oils; impurities; labelling of fat and oil products; limits for trans-fats and cholesterol; classification of fats and oils; offences and penalties.
