Kwara State Lata Grazing Reserve Order, no. 4 of 1991.

This Order, made under provisions of sections 4 and 5 of the Grazing Law 1965, provides for creating a Government Grazing Reserve in the land specified in the attachment. The Order specifies the boundaries of the reserve, the rivers and the connection lines; the measure of the reserve, the rights to abstract water, to take in quantities sufficient only for personal domestic requirements fuelwood, fruits, leaves, barks and roots of economic trees and medicinal plants; types of vegetation existing in the reserve; improving living standards for pastoralists. The Order also provides for: keeping the grazing reserve covered with good forage plants and increasing number of livestock and wildlife products; preventing any kind of hunting, burning and fishing within the reserve; taking all the measures for ensuring water development, fodder conservation plan, range reseeding and fertilisation, bush control of undesirable weeds and fire tracing, highest continuous yield of animal products without endangering the reserve and promoting soil and water conservation, and erosion reduction methods.
