Abstract
This Act, consisting of 18 sections, amends the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (Establishment) Act no. 25 of 2007. Amendments concern: replacement of words and definitions; appointment of Council members; increasing penalties and fines; procedures for ensuring entry and inspection of any premises in case of a verifiable urgency and when environmental pollution is an immediate threat to life and property; restriction on execution against the property of the Agency; indemnity of officers; environmental enforcement infrastructure, as the equipment necessary for environmental monitoring and for strengthening capacity building of the Agency.
