Public Health Law, Chapter 139 of 1917.

This Law concerns public health and related matters, and thus provides for the following topics: dairy products; infectious diseases; health officer; medical officer; premises. The Law concerns: appointment of medical officers of health and definition of their duties; nuisances injurious to health, including: any watercourse, well, or any other collection of water containing stagnant water; any animal or bird noxious to the human health and suffering from a contagious disease; any accumulation or deposit of rubbish; any growth of weeds, cactus, long grass, reeds or wild bush of any kind which maybe injurious to health; any plant or tree, favourable to the breeding of mosquitoes. Further matters covered by this Law include: reducing nuisances and related costs; food inspection; declaration of infected area; offences related to selling adulterated or intoxicating liquors, wine and beverages; disinfection measures; compensation; legal proceedings.
