Abstract
This Act amends the principal Act so as to provide for the possibility to admit pesticides that do not meet the criteria laid down in the principal Act (sections 3 and 3a) but are considered indispensable. The criteria to judge if these pesticides may be admitted, include; if the use of the pesticide is urgently required because no valid alternative substance is available considering public health and the environment; if certain rules relative to novelty, resistance, and cost effectiveness are observed; and the application for the use of the pesticide is made by specified applicants. Restrictions of the above rule are mainly to be found in Community legislation.
