Abstract
This Act contains rules relative to the authorization, placing on the market and use of plant protection products and biocide products as prescribed by Community legislation. The Act also establishes a Council for the Authorization of Plant Protection Products and Biocide Products and defines its functions and powers. The Act defines procedures for the application for and granting of authorizations for the admission of products covered by this Act including testing and publication and provides for parallel and reciprocal authorization. The Act further contains rules relative to trade in and use of these products, makes provision for control and enforcement, creates offences and prescribes penalties.
