Abstract
This Decree, following the provisions of the European Regulation 2017/625 of the European Parliament and of the Council on official controls and other official activities performed to ensure the application of food and feed law, rules on animal health and welfare, plant health and plant protection products, and the provisions of the European Commission Delegated Regulation 2019/624 concerning specific rules for the performance of official controls on the production of meat and for production and relaying areas of live bivalve molluscs in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2017/625, and in application of the Animal Act of 2011 in its last amended version, defines the following tasks of registered veterinarians: inspection according to the provisions of article 4 of the Delegated Regulation 2019/624; activities carried out on behalf of the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority concerning detection, prevention and control of infectious animal diseases. The Decree empowers the Minister to remove a veterinarian from performing one or more tasks in case the veterinarian does not comply with the mentioned legislation.
