Abstract
This Regulation, in compliance with provisions of the Regulation (EC) no. 708/2007 of the Council of the European Union, and the Commission Regulation (EC) no. 506/2008 on the use of alien and locally absent species in aquaculture, and the articles 13 and 19 of the Agricultural Act, concerns rules for the use of exotic and locally absent species in aquaculture. According the Regulation, the Minister is the competent authority referred to in article 5 of the Regulation (EC) no. 708/2007, and keeps the registers, according to article 23 of the Regulation (EC) no. 708/2007. In compliance with provisions of European Regulation no. 708/2007, this Regulation requires, any aquaculture operator intending to undertake the introduction of an alien species, to apply for a permit from the competent authority. This Regulation specifies that it is prohibited to act contrary the provisions of the European Regulation concerning: conditions for release of aquatic organisms into open or closed aquaculture facilities; the drawing up of contingency plans; the request for quarantine measures.
