Act amending Act concerning marine navigation (No. 30 of 2013).

This Act amends certain articles with regard to the Marine Navigation Act - which provides for the registration of sea-going ships, ownership and other matters regarding the legal status of ships, and various other matters relative to marine navigation and use of ships. Particularly related to rules on passenger liability in adherence to EU Regulations and the 2002 Athens Convention. The Ministry may issue regulations on insurance and guarantees, including the conditions under which the insurance or security must be approved, as well as the insurance certification on content, issuance and validity.

Appendix 1 - The provisions of the Athens Convention on carriage of passengers and their luggage by sea which is relevant for the purposes of application of this Regulation (consolidated text of the Athens Convention 1974 for carriage of passengers and their luggage by sea, and the Protocol of 2002 the Convention).
Attachment to the Athens Convention - Certificate of insurance or other financial security for liability for passenger death or injury to persons.
