Abstract
This Act regulates the grating of concessions to Norwegians and foreigners to acquire the right of ownership of a waterfall. The concession gives the right to exploit the waterfall as a source of power. Harnessing of the waterfall shall commence no later than 2 years after the concession has been granted. If the power is used to produce goods for agriculture at least a certain part shall be available for Norwegian agriculture at reduced prices. Recent amendments of the Act allow ownership rights under specified circumstances to be acquired by Norwegian citizens and citizens of States within the EEA under conditions to be prescribed by the Government.
