Abstract
This Decree of the Department of Environment regulates the release of anadromous salmons and freshwater fish, including roe and young fish, in watercourses, fjords and marine areas, and of other freshwater organisms in watercourses. It shall not apply to fish stocking in the sense of Act No. 47 of 1992 or Act No. 68 of 1985. The county official in charge may grant permits for the release of fish for fish farming purposes. Release of anadromous salmons in the sea requires also approval of the Directorate of Fisheries. If the number of fish to be released exceeds 10 million the permit shall be granted by the Department of Environment in consultation with the Department of Fisheries. The permit shall contains indications regarding: which parent fish shall be used; place of production of fish to be released; quality and origin of fish to be released; number of released fish, place and time of release; and warning regarding release and control of fish to be released. Offence against provisions of the present Decree shall be punished in accordance with section 49 of the Act relative to salmons and freshwater fish. (7 sections)
