Decree No. 1098 of 1989 relative supervisors and committees in the marine fisheries sector.

This Decree is composed of 13 sections divided into 4 Chapters: Application sphere (I); Election of Supervisor and members of the Committee (II); Competence of the Committee (III); General provisions (IV).
The Decree applies to fishing by Norwegian vessels. It provides for organization, the election and competence of local fisheries supervisory bodies in accordance with sections 33 and 36 of the Marine Fisheries Act 1983. In each of the districts mentioned in section 2 a Supervisor and Committee shall be elected for fishing with hooks, nets, and lines. If a local supervisory office has been established a Supervisor for such office shall be selected. Two or more districts may form a Committee district.
