Abstract
This Decree of the Ministry of Environment consists of 20 sections divided into 7 Chapters: General rules (I); Inland Fishing (II); Fishing for anadromous salmons in watercourses (III); Fishing for anadromous salmons in the sea (IV); Fishing by foreigners (V); Appeal against decisions (VI); Miscellaneous provisions (VII). The Directorate for State Forests shall be in charge of freshwater fishing of State grounds. Only in Finnmark this shall be done by the Finnmark Agricultural Office. Fishing in reindeer pasture areas shall be in accordance with rules laid down in the Reindeer Farming Act of 1978. Sections of Chapters II, III, IV concern fishing permits, the lease of general permits to local organizations, and place restrictions on fishing which regard mainly the use of gear. Fishing permits can be issued to foreigners in accordance with directives issued by the Directorate of State Forests.
