Abstract
The Decree is divided into 6 Chapters: General provisions (1); Norwegian Economic Zone north of the 62nd parallel (2); Norwegian Economic zone south of the 62nd parallel (3); Fisheries Zone of Jan Mayen (4); Fishing for young Norwegian herring in the Norwegian Economic Zone north of the 62nd parallel and the Fisheries Zone of Jan Mayen (5); common provisions (6);
The Decree specifies total allowable catch for various fish species including herring, cod, haddock, mackerel, and coalfish and for each of the areas. It also gives percentages of allowed bycatch and prohibits fishing for spring herring south of the 62nd parallel in statistics area IV. It places also some other restrictions on fishing i.e. requirements for herring seine vessels and a partial prohibition of fishing for redfish.
