Abstract
The text of the Decree consists of 20 sections divided into 5 Chapter: Scope, application sphere and definitions (I); General conditions (II); General requirements (III); Supplementary requirements for importation from third countries (IV); Final provisions (V). The Decree aims at the prevention of diseases affecting tame and wild animals of the equine species including zebras, donkeys, and crossbreeds. It establishes requirements for importation and exportation within the EEA area and for importation from countries or part of countries outside that area. Condition for importation is that the animals shall originate from EEA countries or approved third countries, listed in the Schedules. An identification document and a health certificate shall accompany the animals. Chapter III contains requirements relative to characteristics of animals. Chapter IV contains requirements for importation of third countries specified according to various kinds of diseases that may affect the animals. (20 sections completed by 3 Schedules)
