Decree No. 158 of 2001 relative to control of changes in ownership of companies, etc. that have obtained a permit for farming of salmon and trout in marine waters.

This Decree applies to farming of fish in saltwater for purposes of human consumption in accordance with Act No. 68 of 1985. Permits for the farming of salmon and sea trout can be given to enterprise or single persons. A change in the ownership structure of enterprises running the fish farming operations shall be communicated to the Directorate of Fisheries (sect. 3). Changes in ownership structure that are not conforming rules of allocation can not be approved. Some restrictions on change of ownership in relation with the concession are laid down in section 5.
